Delete your Langsy account

This page explains how to delete your Langsy account and all associated data.

Option 1 — Delete inside the app (recommended)

1. Open Langsy on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Go to the Profile tab (bottom-right).
3. Scroll down and tap "Privacy & Data" (Приватность и данные).
4. At the bottom, under "Danger Zone" (Опасная зона), tap "Delete account" (Удалить аккаунт).
5. Confirm the deletion in the dialog. Your account and data will be removed immediately and permanently.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app (e.g., lost device, locked out), send an email to sergmochalin@gmail.com with:

• Subject: Langsy Account Deletion Request
• Your registered email address (the one tied to your Google or Apple Sign-In)
• Optional: reason for deletion (helps us improve — not required)

We will process the request within 7 business days and send you confirmation once completed.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

• Account record (email, display name, profile picture URL, linked Google/Apple identifier)
• All chat / conversation history with the AI tutor
• Language level (CEFR) and progress history
• Saved idioms
• Listening practice sessions and results
• Speech repeat-practice sessions and scores
• Daily usage counters
• Uploaded avatar image (if any)

What is retained (and for how long)

We keep the following anonymized data, with no link back to you, for legitimate operational purposes:

• AI usage accounting logs (provider, model, token counts, cost) — up to 90 days, solely for cost tracking and abuse prevention. Your user_id is set to NULL upon account deletion, making these records non-personal.
